FSA orientation @ MozUP

It all started when all the enthusiastic members of MozUP planned to organize an orientation session for all the new FSAs, so that they can get familiar with each other as well as get to know how they can contribute to Mozilla in their own field of interest. The FSA orientation had been planned on 19th of September,2015. All the new members were invited, and an event had been created.

On 19th, we all gathered at Cafe Coffee Day, Hazratganj, Lucknow, the venue fixed for the meeting, at around 12 PM. The orientation started smoothly, with an ice breaker suggested by Vnisha, the MozUP Community Liaison. The ice breaker actually was quite funny as every person has to remember the former one's intro, but at the end, we all got to know each other well.

After finishing up with the intro round, the main agenda for the day started, which was explaining to all the newbies about Mozilla,  Mozilla Uttar Pradesh community, FSA program, WoMoz, MLS and Webmaker.

Vnisha started, by making us all aware about Mozilla, its mission, and how one can contribute to it. Every member of MozUP shared their experience with this community and their journey till now. Ashish, one of the core members of the community, enlightened us about the various areas in Mozilla where we can show our active contribution like coding, quality assurance, documentation and much more.

Jyotsna made us all aware about the Firefox OS and its App Development, the FSA program, and how one can form a Firefox club in one's college. Vnisha also told us about the Webmaker and Mozilla's products. Rajat shared his experience with Localisation and how one can contribute in that particular area.

While concluding the meeting, the feedback of all the new members were requested.
All in all, this orientation was a huge success. we got to learn a lot from all of them. Thrilled to be a part of this community.

P.S. Join us and be a part of this awe-inspiring community Drop a mail

With regards,

A Proud Mozillian.
